Premier League Match Day 5 - top six previews

The International break feels like it has gone on for months rather than just a weekend, but it's over now and the Premier League is back. Will the break have an effect, will some teams lose momentum, will some be galvanised? Have any teams picked up injuries?

Spurs v Liverpool

Last season this match was a rout. Dejan Lovren had a meltdown in the first twenty minutes and gifted Tottenham two goals. Although Salah, ( who else), got one back the damage was done, Lovren's nervousness spread to the rest of the team even though he was hooked early and Spurs coasted to a comfortable victory.
This season though Liverpool have really strengthened, especially in defence, Van Djke and Allisson are a massive upgrade on last season. Spurs on the other hand, ahem, haven't strengthened and will be without two key players in Dele Alli and Hugo Lloris. Having said all that though Spurs are still a very good team and these two teams are very evenly match.  Unless the game is decided by a moment of brilliance, a moment of madness or a massive slice of luck, I think this will end in stalemate.
Final score prediction:1-1

Chelsea v Cardiff

This could be a pivotal weekend in the season for Chelsea, with Liverpool playing Spurs and Watford playing United, Chelsea could find themselves the only team with a 100% record come Monday morning.
Neil Warnock has said he is going to come and attack. I am not convinced he is telling the truth, it would be out of character and also potentially suicidal as Chelsea would easily pick Cardiff off. To be honest though I don't think it matters how Warnock sets Cardiff up I can only see a comfortable Chelsea win
Final score prediction:4-1

Man City v Fulham

Fulham have been better than their results suggest and City have been exactly what their results suggest, unbeaten, top scorers and imperious.Fulham are a good footballing side, they play with good possession and plenty of movement and they will enjoy a lot of success against lots of teams, but not this weekend and not against this team.
City are going to sweep Fulham aside with ease.
Final score prediction:3-0

Newcastle v Arsenal

Newcastle have made a shocking start to the season. Arsenal have also underwhelmed but they have got the job done in their last two matches. This fixture has a history of being high scoring and I don't think it will be any different this time out. I  believe Arsenal will nick it because of their superior goal threat.
Final score prediction:2-3

Watford v Man United

Watford have impressed me so far this season, they have a good mix of strong physical presence and technical adroitness and although they may have pinched the result last time out against Spurs, they pretty much deserve their 100% record.
Man United have been very strange, to say the least, they struggled to a couple of wins and then played Brighton. They were awful and deserved to lose a week later they played Spurs, played well, were the dominant team and yet lost three nil. It is a really tough match to call and anything could happen but I'm predicting a high scoring draw.
Final score prediction:2-2
