England vs Tunisia preview

Gareth Southgate has assembled one of the youngest England squads ever to attend a major tournament. This has two positives, it has got the public and the press onside whilst damping  down expectation. The team may lack experience but they will also not suffer from the hangover of previous failures.
Southgate has shown tactical nous and bravery, in his selection and set up which has been a pleasant surprise. There is less emphasis on the athleticism and more focus on technical ability as evidenced by a midfield containing Alli, Lingard and Sterling.
Don't get carried away though this heady mix of youth and technical ability isn't good enough to win the tournament, but a good start against Tunisia would help build confidence and momentum. If this World Cup has shown us anything it is that the underdogs need to be respected. I cannot see that a sensible man like Southgate would allow complacency to creep in. I think that England will get a very professional win.
