Chelsea FC news: Diego Costa set to commit future with Chelsea

Chelsea's and Spanish striker Diego Costa is set to dash off speculations linking him away with the Blues behind him after reports emerged he is set to sign a new contract. The Stamford Bridge outfit are set to make the former Atletico Madrid their highest paid player by offering him a mouth-watering deal worth £220,000-a-week, according to The Sun.
The 28-year-old, if the reports making the rounds are anything to go by, would be handed a new five-year deal which, will see him bag £57m during the tenure of the contract. And the figure is likely to rise to £65m will bonuses. Well, the deal the will still be a lot less than the proposed £30m-a-year offer he reportedy received from Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjin back in January.
He was dropped for his side Premier League game against reigning Premier League champions Leicester City and had been training alone for over a week which has done nothing but raised increase speculations over his future. Midfielder Cesc Fabregas – who is not a regular starter under head coach Antonio Conte – is currently Chelsea’s highest paid player.
