Liverpool hoping to complete £15m transfer move for defender - report

Liverpool have reportedly negotiated a buy-black and sell-on clause with Bournemouth following the club's agreement of a £15 million transfer for Jordon Ibe, but the winger is waiting to hear offers from other interested parties.

According to the Mirror, West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United are also said to be showing a keen interest in the 20-year-old, who is not in rush to sign any contracts and has not ruled out staying put with the Reds in order to try to nail down a starting berth at Liverpool.

As Squawka Football commented on this performance, it said, "Ibe is a highly talented dribbler."
However, his end-product leaves much to be desired, which should be of real concern for any clubs considering making a significant investment in him.

According to Squawka, he's 20 chances in 27 Premier League matches last season and he bagged only one goal. He’s not known for tracking back either, making nine tackles and only one interception in those league games.

Such an investment would be a significant gamble, particularly for a Newcastle side fighting for promotion and Bournemouth as they look to survive.

Of the interested parties, the Magpies are arguably the most attractive proposition despite being in the Championship next season due to their stature and the exciting project Rafa Benitez looks to be building there.

However, their capture of Matt Ritchie from the Cherries means they have less need for Ibe's services.

Regardless of which club the defender who choose to remain at, what is clear is that Ibe must improve his delivery and produce performances that are more consistent than he has been providing at the Anfield for the Reds.
