Huge: Man City close to completing two mega deals
The Chief executive of Manchester City Ferran Soriano says two more
deals are close to completion but they'll have to wait until Euro 2016 is over.
The man who's in charge of the Blues' transfer strategy said that
two deals are close – one is thought to be the £40m move for Germany international Leroy Sane and the other may have referred to Oleksandr
Zinchenko, whose £1.7million move from Ufa was announced yesterday or Everton
defender John Stones.
The Citizens has already landed the Germany midfielder Ilkay Gundogan for £19.7m to the the Etihad Stadium earlier before the opening of the transfer window and also Spain winger Nolito for for £13.8m.
The team Chief executive Soriano told as quoted by BBC World: “You need to change three, four or five players in a season. We have two new players, one gone and maybe we're halfway."
“There will be some more. Two deals are close, the other
deals are fairly advanced. Some players don't want to announce anything until
they (the Euros) are finished.” He added.
Soriano was speaking as new coach Pep Guardiola was revealed
to fans at the City Football Academy, and he feels the new man in charge will
make a difference.
“We believe with Pep we go one step forward in terms of
tactical sophistication and playing beautiful football, which is what we want
to do,” he said.
“It's not a massive change, just another step in the
direction we want to go.
“He had one month on holiday and spent at least half of it
working. All the successful people I've known are obsessed. This is how you
master an activity.”
