Fenerbahce in talk with Liverpool to sign Skrtel - reports
With arrivals of Sadio Mane, Joel Matip, and Loris Karius already
completed and according to reports the Reds move for Jakub Blaszczkowski
reportedly on the cards, Liverpool had to start giving space for some of their
existing player a chance to exit from the Anfied.
Fenerbache are
reportedly in talks with Liverpool for the Slovakian veteran Martin Skrtel and
Jordon Ibe respective as the duo are seeking to find employment elsewhere.
Both fell out of
favour with the club manager Jurgen Klopp last season and it seems very likely
that neither will stride out in the red of Liverpool again.
The Turkish club,
Fenerbache confirmed on Thursday that they had begun negotiations with
Liverpool for Skrtel, a man who has made 300 appearances for the Reds since his
arrival at the Anfield stadium in 2008. He had a very mixed career in Anfield.
However, it’s fair
to say, as Skrtel looked dependable, solid at times, shaky, and error-prone at
others.
Meanwhile, the Reds
have agreed a £15 million fee with Eddie Howe’s side for the services of Ibe.
Liverpool are reportedly to have also given the Ibe the opportunity to talk to
his suitors.
