Chelsea to lose two stars to Napoli
With Antonio Conte about to take over the reins at
Chelsea, the Stamford Bridge outfit are primed to target and lure a couple of
Serie A stars to the club. However, according to recent reports, the Serie A giants Napoli
are about to steal sign two of Chelsea targets.
Federico Pastorello, who is Antonio Candreva’s agent, has
confirmed that Lazio, Roma and Napoli have an agreements in place to meet with the player to agree personal terms, according to reports via Football-Italia.
Napoli are ready to pay £23.9 million, including
bonuses, for Candreva who impressed at the 2016 European Championship this
summer and was also a main target for Inter Milan and Chelsea.
Chelsea are now looking to miss out on Candreva, but
the Italian winger is not the only one on their radar. Napoli’s official radio station, via Football-Italia, claims they have agreed terms with both Zenit St Petersburg
and Axel Witsel, beating Chelsea and Everton to the Belgium international.
Axel Witsel, who has spoken about leaving
Russia, has reportedly agreed on a four-year contract with wages of £2.7
million per year, with Napoli ready to pay £17 million plus bonuses for
the 27-year-old.
The Belgium international had seemingly opted for a
move to the Premier League. However, a deal did not go through amid problems over agreeing personal terms.
