Arsenal set to land Bundesliga star defender

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund central defender Neven Subotic, with reports also linking the defender with other Premier League rival with like Liverpool, Sunderland, Stoke City.

According to report from the Telegraph, it claimed the Gunners had made contact with Borussia Dortmund about the availability for the Serbian central defender.

Arsenal are really keen on signing the centre back to help bolster their defense, and probably the move becomes possible, he will be the French international Laurent Koscielny partner.

Subotic wanting exit from Dortmund could simply be said, it’s due to the fact that the Serbian has always be benched by the club manager Thomas Tuchel as he only had the chance of making six appearances in the Bundesliga last season.

However, there will be no sense in this at all if the Serbian choose Liverpool or Sunderland and even The Stokes amidst Arsenal if he truly wish in moving to England as this other teams do not feature in the Champions League and with the doubts that surrounds Kieran Gibbs departing from Arsenal this summer,  he could well fit for a first-team action at the Emirates Stadium.

Subotic joined Dortmund in June 2008 from Mainz 05, where he made his professional debut. He has also made 36 international appearances for Serbia.

The Serbian international himself has recently hinted on his social media that he wants leave the German outfit, and the Gunners are now lining up a bid for him as they wants to bolster their defensive options ahead of the coming campaign. He said,

"Dear friends, during the last year I realised that my love for the game of football in an active role is too big to just be able to see it from outside. Football is an important part of my life. I love it and I can’t be without it."

"I am in the best age for a football player and I want to use my time to improve myself and my team every day. And I want to have the feeling I am needed and I can give everything for my club. That is what I am thinking about."

"I do not want to earn my money on the bench, but to be a active part of the history like I was until last year. I hope you can understand that."

"Borussia Dortmund is the club of my heart and it will always be."

"Yours, Neven."

Having the likes of Neven Subotic to partner Laurent Koscielny at the Emirates Stadium would strengthen the Gunners squad and they could be in the better position of winning the Premier League and even the Champions League title as wells.
