Arsenal midfielder claims he is ready for next season

Arsenal midfielder and England international Jack Wilshere is looking to put the disappointments of last season behind him as the England forward gears up for Arsenal’s Premier League campaign.

Judging by the 24-year-old’s Instagram account, Wilshere is hoping to forget the season that saw him put on the back burner with a long-term injury from pre-season sustained in 2015 which dogged him until April 2016.

However, he managed to return to fitness in time to be part of England’s ill-fated Euro 2016 campaign in France. He posed while doing pull-ups on a bar above his shower, handily positioned next to a rack of weights, as he prepares to return to Arsenal for pre-season.

In addition, the midfielder's caption implied that he was keen to forget his last troubled year as he said that, 'What's done is done, all I can do now is prepare for next season the best I can.'

The 24-year-old played three games at Euro 2016, although he only started the 0-0 draw against Slovakia in England's final group game.

However, the pre-season will tell us a lot about his form and, of course, how fit and ready he his. Mezut Ozil will no doubt be straight back in the starting line-up next season once he is deemed ready, so the question is will the young Jack help the Gunners get off to a good start in the German’s place?
