Bitten by Fantasy Football bug again

I've not been bitten by the Fantasy Football bug in a while, but now that I've been injected with the adrenalin that a new season brings, I thought I'd give it a go at fantasy.premierleague.com

I selected a team with 3 Arsenal defenders, of course feeling confident that Cech, at least, would produce the goods. Somehow he garnered me 1 point, despite letting in two goals! So like Arsene Wenger, I'm not going to panic buy just yet!

Luckily, I selected Jason Puncheon in midfield, as I thought he represented value for money at £6m.

Upfront, Wayne Rooney is always reliable, so I splashed out £10.5m on him and made him captain to double his points tally. That turned out to be a good move, as he got me 10pts, putting me into second place in my local league.

If Vincent Kompany does the business tonight for Man City, I could end up top!

Meanwhile, looking ahead to week 2, I've jettisoned Ki Sung-Yeung of Swansea and brought in Marc Albrighton of Leicester, one of my favourite players. I just wish I'd picked him earlier! At £5m, you can't go wrong with him.

Other players I've got my eye on include: Payet (bit pricey though at £7.5m), Ayew (Swansea £7m), Adrian (a snip at £5m), Oxford (a super snip at £4m), Cabaye (£6.5m) and Zarate (£5.5m).

Lots of transfer business on the horizon, then!

GK McCarthy 18
DF Delaney 35
MF Mahrez 56
ST Vardy 39

Which of these interest you? I'll be keeping an eye on Mahrez, but it's too early to be sure he'll be good for the long-haul.
