Lukaku in no rush to make Chelsea return
Romelu Lukaku would gladly stay at West Bromwich Albion next
season.
The Belgium international left Anderlecht for Chelsea in a
£19million move last summer, but he failed to make an impact during his debut
season in England. Signed as one for the future, the Blues were keen to loan
the 19-year-old out so he could gain regular first team action, and he is
spending the current campaign at West Brom.
Lukaku has made 20 Premier League appearances for thee
Baggies during his temporary stay, and his brace in the 3-2 defeat at Reading
takes his tally to nine goals. And as his parent club continues to struggle to
get the best from Fernando Torres, it has been suggested that the teenager
could return to Stamford Bridge this month.
Whilst such a move has been ruled out by all concerned,
Lukaku has now revealed that he is enjoying life at the Hawthorns to such an
extent, he would be happy to remain for another season. The striker believes he
is benefitting from the game time he is getting for Albion, and staying for
another campaign can only help him further.
"At this time I'm just looking at my own (situation)
and West Brom. I don't really care about what Chelsea are doing at the
moment," he said. "The next two years will be good for me at West
Brom. They will help me build up for a great career, that is for sure.
Hopefully, after the January window, we will be able to start talking about
that.”
