Ambitious Begovic not looking towards Stoke City exit door

Asmir Begovic insists he is happy with life at Stoke City.

The Bosnian is fast earning a reputation as one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the Premier League, and he and his side can boast the best defensive record in the division. The goalless draw with Aston Villa means Tony Pulis’ team have conceded just 12 goals this term, two less than next best and reigning champions Manchester City.

Begovic has certainly played his part in this scrooge-like statistic, with his shutout against the Midlands outfit being his eighth clean sheet of the campaign. Such a record has brought him speculation in regards to Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United, but whilst flattered, the 25-year-old has no plans to quit the Britannia Stadium.

"It's very flattering," he told Sky Sports News. "It's positive feedback from other teams that people are looking at you and mentioning you with those teams.

“It's no secret that everyone has their own ambitions and they want to be playing at the highest level possible. But right now I'm just focused on taking Stoke forward. I think the club here has a lot of ambitions; the chairman, the manager and everyone else included. So we just want to keep pushing this club forwards and see how far we can take it."
