Messi shrugs off PSG link by revealing he will never leave Barcelona

Lionel Messi is likely to play his entire career at Barcelona.

The Argentine has been at the Camp Nou since 2000, and he has gone on to become the best player on the planet. Indeed, some pundits even rate him as the best to have ever played the game, above the likes of compatriot Diego Maradona and Brazilian legend Pele.

During his time in Catalonia, Messi has helped Barca win the UEFA Champions League three times, the league title five times, two Spanish Cups, two FIFA World Club Cups and two UEFA Super Cups. He also has numerous individual honours including the Ballon d’Or twice, the FIFA World Player of the Year, and the World Soccer Player of the Year twice.

That he has achieved all there is to achieve at his current club, and the fact he is still only 25-years-old, has led to suggestions that the forward may well look for a fresh challenge elsewhere one day. However, Messi has dismissed such talk, which is bad news for mega-rich Paris St Germain who have this week been linked with an audacious bid for his signature at the end of the season.

“Leaving Barca to join a club like PSG? I have the best team-mates in the world. Each year we are fighting for titles,” he told France Football. "Barcelona is a wonderful city too. Barca is the club where I have grown. Frankly, I couldn't imagine myself leaving."
