Swansea City bring in Tiendalli to cover for Taylor absence

Swansea City have signed Dwight Tiendalli.

Michael Laudrup has been keen to land a new left fullback, since Neil Taylor picked up a broken ankle earlier this season and was subsequently ruled out for the rest of the campaign. And Tiendalli arrives at the Liberty Stadium on a free transfer, after he was released by FC Twente at the end of last term.

The 26-year-old has previously played alongside current Swans stars Michel Vorm, Jonathan De Guzman and Kemy Agustien, so he will be welcomed by some friendly faces. And he is confident he can settle at the Premier League side just like his pals have.

“The style of football here is very, very attractive,” said Tiendalli. “I love this style and it was a big attraction for me. I'm looking forward to working under Michael Laudrup, who is a massive name in football, and showing him what I have to offer.

"Playing in the Premier League is something I have always wanted to do - it's the best league in the world. I'm sure I will fit in very well because I share the same philosophy as the club.  I can't wait to work hard in training and try to force myself into the starting XI."
