Dempsey looking forward to ABV link-up at Tottenham Hotspur

Clint Dempsey is looking forward to working with Andre Villas-Boas.

The US international was one of the stars of the Premier League last season, when he was a prolific goalscorer for Fulham. But with his contract into its final 12 months this summer, it was always likely he would be leaving the Craven Cottage outfit.

Liverpool had long been linked with the 29-year-old, and it was thought a move to Anfield was the player’s wish. However, it is Tottenham who have signed the midfielder, who is now relishing the prospect of working under Villas-Boas at White Hart Lane.

"To play under this head coach and play for this club is a dream come true. I want to make the most of it,” he said. "There are a lot of great players here. I'm looking forward to training and playing with them."

Spurs paid £6million to sign Dempsey, who has penned a three-year deal. The American will find a familiar face in his new dressing room, after Villas-Boas also raided Fulham to land Belgian international ace Moussa Dembele for £15million.
