No move to Fulham, so where is Lukaku heading?

Romelu Lukaku will not be joining Fulham this summer...but he will leave Chelsea and sign for another Premier League side on loan.

The Belgian international was a big-money signing for the Blues last year, but he failed to net a single goal in 12 appearances. Lukaku knows he needs regular first team action this season, but he also accepts he is likely to get this at Stamford Bridge.

Martin Jol had hoped to take the 19-year-old to Fulham on loan for the campaign, but the agent of the striker has ruled out a move to Craven Cottage. However, he has also revealed that the former Anderlecht striker will be staying in the Premier League, although he has opted not to reveal his destination just yet.

"I can assure you that Romelu is not going to Fulham," Christophe Henrotay told Sport/Foot. "I am currently finalising the details with another Premier League club. Romelu will go on loan. I cannot say which team he will join, or when it will happen, but things are progressing."

Stoke City – the lowest scorers in the top-flight last season – are in desperate need for more firepower, whilst Everton have also been linked with Lukaku. However, a shock contender has emerged in Sunderland, who are thought to have joined the race for the teenager.
